How do I register to volunteer?
You will be prompted to login or register before referring yourself to volunteer. With an account, you will be able to manage group invitations, sign up for a customized opportunity alert email, view your referral history, and track hours and more.
Why do I need to report my hours after I volunteer?
It is important to report your hours for a few reasons. First, there is an opportunity for your organization to receive a grant through the Money for Time program if you volunteer 15 hours. Second, if you work in a store, there is an opportunity for your organization to recieve a grant through the Field Team Grant program if you volunteer 25 hours with your store employees. And third, it allows our team to track our company's total contribution to communities around the world.
How do I become a Community Leader?
To become the designated Community Leader in your area, send an email to Gap Foundation with your name, brand and store/location number.
How do I take advantage of the Take Five program?
Exempt corporate employees are eligible to participate in Take Five with their manager's approval. Send an email to Gap Foundation, stating that your manager has approved your time out of the office to volunteer. Remember to report your hours once you have completed your volunteering!
My store participates in Camp Old Navy, but I am not sure what hours can count toward a Field Team Grant.
Store teams can count a mix of on and off the clock volunteer hours toward a Field Team Grant, including time spent planning, organizing and hosting the event.
How do I sign up for an In Action Day project?
Go to the Volunteer tab. Then click the “Gap Sponsored Projects” in the search box. Then, enter your location and search criteria. This will show all InAction Day projects in your area. To sign up, click the title of the project, and then click the “Volunteer Now” button on the right side of the page.
What if I can’t make it to my volunteering project in my community?
Please contact the nonprofit directly if you can not make it to your volunteering project. When you signed up to volunteer, you received an email confirmation that included a contact and phone number at the nonprofit. Please contact them to let them know you are no longer able to attend.

Can I participate in volunteerism during normal business hours?
If you are a corporate, exempt employee, you can take advantage of the Take Five program with your manager’s permission. If you work in a store, your individual volunteer time needs to occur outside business hours. If your store team is volunteering as part of the
Team Grant Program, your volunteer hours can be a blend of personal and business hours.
What if I don’t find the nonprofit organization I volunteer at when I go to log my hours?
