Who is eligible to participate in employee programs?
All full, and part-time Gap Inc. employees are eligible to participate in employee programs.
 
Why can't I use this site to make a financial donation of less than $25?
This is a matching site. Gap Inc. matches donations of $25 or more up to an employee's annual limit.

What if I’m a new employee?

If you are a new employee, and you are not yet in our database, our customer service can assist you with your donation. Please call them at 1-888-GAP-GIVE anytime Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. You can also email them at

Is there a minimum amount for donations?
The minimum pledge for ongoing payroll deductions is $1 per paycheck; the minimum for a Gift Match is $25; and for Money For Time it is 15 hours volunteered with one organization.

What are the methods for participating?
You can participate by donating via payroll deduction, check, credit card or by volunteering.

Can I give a one-time payroll deduction?
No, due to system constraints we can not process one-time payroll deductions - you can however give a one-time gift via check, credit card or stock.

What if I want to donate to more than one cause or organization?
Payroll Deductions - You may donate to up to four organizations or causes. The website will prompt you on how to enter multiple requests.
One Time Gifts and Money For Time - You must enter each matching request separately.

Will I get an acknowledgement from the nonprofit after making my donation?
Payroll Deductions - You can request an acknowledgment from the nonprofit organization that you have chosen. We will then provide the nonprofit with your name and address. Keep in mind, though, that your name may be added to the organization’s mailing list for future solicitations.
One Time Gifts - The nonprofit will already have your information and you should contact them directly if you do or do not want to be acknowledged. Per US IRS regulation, organizations will automatically provide an acknowledgment for contributions of $250 or more to any single cause or organization.

Can I donate money to an organization located outside the United States?
This website allows you to donate to projects in over 300 countries around the world. However, due to IRS regulations, the organization must hold a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt public nonprofit status in the U.S., or a Canadian nonprofit organization with registration number in order to have your donation matched.
 
How do I get my donation matched?
You can donate online by clicking here. Eligible donations and volunteer hours will be matched up to your annual limit.

How often are gifts matched and distributed?
Payroll donations are matched and distributed quarterly. The schedule will be as follows:

1st Quarter disbursement – June
2nd Quarter disbursement – September
3rd Quarter disbursement – December
4th Quarter disbursement – March

What organizations are eligible to receive a match?
Eligibility Criteria: Must be a public nonprofit that has tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, a nonprofit organization with tax-exempt status and a Canadian nonprofit registration number, or an international equivalent.
·          Educational institutions (public & private with no discriminatory or exclusionary practices)
·          Elementary and secondary schools, two and four-year colleges, universities; and vocational and technical schools in the US are also eligible.

What organizations are employees not eligible to receive a match?
Political causes or organizations that engage in political activities, religious organizations
·          except those with a social service program that operates separately from the church (the program must have its own tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, be a nonprofit organization with tax exempt status and a Canadian nonprofit registration number, or have an international equivalent; and must have its own mission statement and Board of Directors). Organizations that discriminate based on race,
·          ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or have exclusionary practices are also not eligible to receive a match.
Note: We also cannot match donations to individuals or payments for school tuition.
 
What types of donations are eligible for matching?
Must be a personal donation, from the donor’s personal funds. The minimum annual donation must be $25 to each organization or cause. The request must be received within 90 days from date of gift to be eligible for match.

What are the matching limits?
Part-time $1,000
·          Full-time $2,500
·          Director to VP $5,000
·          SVP and Above $10,000
 
How does my donation get distributed?
All donations made through this site are matched on a quarterly schedule – see below.
Payroll deductions – They are deducted from your paycheck – held in a non-interest bearing account and sent to the nonprofit with the appropriate matching funds on a quarterly schedule (see below).
One-time gifts – After sending your donation directly to the nonprofit organization, enter your donation on this site under My Account. We will verify with the nonprofit that they have received your donation and match based on the quarterly schedule.
 
How do I enroll for payroll donations?
Click on My Account and follow the instructions for payroll donations.
 
What if I want to change or cancel my payroll donation?
You can change your donation by simply logging onto this site, clicking on My Account and editing your donation.

You can cancel your payroll donation at any time by sending email to
gap@easymatch.com.

Please note: changes or cancellations may take up to six weeks to go into effect.

Do I need to renew my payroll donation each year?
No, your payroll donation will continue indefinitely unless you initiate a change (see above).

Will I get a donation confirmation?
You will receive a confirmation via email or hard copy confirming your donation within one week of submitting your online donation.

Community Health Charities
Community Health Charities is a coalition of America’s health charities, and is dedicated to saving lives and helping people by addressing the most significant diseases and disabilities of our time. They represent 64 charities including the Alzheimer’s Association, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the American Lunch Association.   

Earth Share
Earth Share’s national affiliates are environmental and conservation groups that restore and protect our environment. Earth Share’s member agencies include the National Wildlife Federation, Sierra Club Foundation and Rainforest Alliance.

Gap Foundation Emergency Relief Fund
The Gap Foundation Emergency Relief Fund was established in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. The fund collects and distributes employee donations to support disaster relief efforts around the country and world where we work and do business.

Gap Inc. Scholarship Fund
The Gap Inc. scholarship fund was established to help underserved youth achieve their educational goals. Each year, Gap Foundation works with a number of youth serving organizations to award the scholarships.

United Way
United Way supports thousands of social service agencies throughout its more than 1,200 local affiliates. These affiliates aim to take advantage of each community’s capacity to help people when and where they need it most. Each United Way affiliate decides how to allocate donations. Member agencies include the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the Boys & Girls Club of America.

Due to privacy reasons, this site will never display your employee ID.

Can employees outside of the United States and Canada participate in payroll donations?
No, employees outside of the United States and Canada cannot take advantage of the payroll donation program at this time.
 
Does the matching program run on a fiscal or calendar year?
Our matching program operates on a calendar year. The program ends each year on December 31st and begins each new year on January 1st. Each employee's annual limit is reset, as well as store Team Grant allocations.
